I used to believe that a platonic relationship can be enjoyed by two people of the opposite sexes because I have the best buddy in the world.
He knows my likes and dislikes, treats me like a princess, understands me and we talk about everything under the sun BUT I almost know nothing about him at all. :(
I'm such a bad friend right.
Nonetheless, I'm truly blessed to have a buddy like that.
However, a freak, life-threatening incident changed everything and I finally realised what everyone has been trying to tell me all along - there can never be a platonic relationship between men and women.
Yes, a guy and girl can stay the best of friends but their friendship will progress to a stage where feelings may develop and one or both parties may try to suppress those feelings, afraid of risking the pure friendship they share harmoniously or, risk losing everything.
Right now, I'm feeling damn damn damn bad but I know he's definitely feeling worse than me.
Argh!!!!!!!!!
I'm seriously engulfed in guilt it's choking me.
It's that sucky, annoying tugging feeling in my heart.
Why can't things remain the same as before?
Why must there be one who crosses the line and jeopardise whatever we have shared before?
Things are probably never gonna be the same again, what with all the awkwardness BUT given my buddy's mature and strong personality, I have great faith he would be able to pull through.
That's the best I can hope for, right?
Yes, the best I can hope for.
Everything will be alright.

#1312: Genting!

This weekend could not have been more untimely!
I'm gonna miss Mid-Autumn Festival celebration with my family & friends & colleagues (carry lanterns and put mini fireworks at the amphitheatre below my house, enjoy delicious mooncakes with the company of my family and friends and my co-workers are having a mini party at one of their houses!!!).
Furthermore, I'm gonna miss the very fun and exciting birthday celebration of See Thor Hui Qi!
Someone kill me please.
How can I be missing in her 22nd birthday memory?
*hits forehead*
Then, when I arrive back in Singapore on Monday night, I don't know if I could be able to rush and make it in time for my FIRST paid Korean class.
Bummer, I think there is a very high possibility of me barging in halfway through the class, making a GRAND ENTRANCE yet again.
Like always.
I THOUGHT I would be able to make it for Huiqi's birthday celebration cos it falls on a Tuesday but little did I know that we would both be occupied by school from dawn to dusk on Tuesdays.
And 13th Sept 2011 is no exception. Argh.
Blur me did not check the lunar calendar for the date of Mid-Autumn too so I was oblivious to the fact that I would miss the festival.
I have poor time management, haven't I?
I didn't really announce the fact that I would be travelling to Genting for a short weekend getaway with my buddy because... well, I don't really know much about the trip in all honesty.
Y'all would know that I would want to be in the "know-all", that's my control freak style haha, but this time, he's bringing me along together with his friends (or colleagues? I don't know!) so I'm like considered as an "outsider", haha!
I don't know how the itinerary is like, he booked the hotel room, he arranged the transportation so basically, I'm responsible to bring my passport and myself that's all.
I should be glad to be given a mini vacation over the weekend but I feel reaaaalllly sad for missing all these exciting events that are happening in my absence.
There's this tugging feeling within me.
Bahhh I'm going to burst into tears hahaha!
Okay, I shan't waste my ringgit and enjoy myself to the fullest!
Cast away the negative thoughts, Huimin!
Be positiveeeeee! +++++++++++++++

#1311: The deadly cramps
***Intimate female details. Guys, don't say I didn't warn you in advance! ***
It's 2am and I'm lying on the bed trying to get to sleep.
Obviously the plan failed and I thought of blogging on my phone!
So I had the killer cramps yesterday and they were badddd.
I was paralysed on the bed and lost appetite all day.
I had merely a bowl of maggie mee. And perhaps 2 glasses of water that's all.
There was no chocolate at home to provide comfort, much to my dismay.
All I did was nua on the bed the entire day and night, occasionally moving to the toilet to pee.
I don't know how guys can ever understand the whole "menstrual torture" we go through.
It's like a package - first, the pre-menstrual symptoms (a.k.a. PMS) which ALMOST everyone gets including me so there will always be 2-3 days a month where I feel like a grumpy old woman and flare up/give attitude/feel restless/easily worked up/feel against the world.
Secondly, our faces start to break out and we get zits in all the possible VISIBLE places.
It's like a volcanic eruption, I feel like all the heat is radiating from within me.
Following which, the first day hits us with the killer cramps.
I figure the extent of the pain of the cramps differs from month to month, like it was not too terrible for me last month as compared to this month.
Differs with each individual of course.
Oh yes, people do get killer cramps every month coupled with migraines and puking (my sis vomited last month on her first day; she gets extremely weak whenever the time of the month comes).
It has to do with their weak constitutions I suppose.
I don't know how to strengthen my constitution, eat more ginger, evening prim rose oil?!
I never depend on the pink pill too, don't wanna rely on medication to reduce pain lest the drugs screw up my system haha!
Today's the second day and I feel much better.
I grimace at the fact that I, and all other girls alike, have to go through this tormenting cycle 12 times a year and probably 360 times in our lives, assuming we have our monthly periods for 30 long years.
10 years have passed for me, ahhh, possibly 20 more years to go.
PS: Guys, you don't know how lucky you are to be "exempted" from such physically and psychologically hurting experience.

#1310: Attractive people are more selfish.
Yes, attractive people are more selfish. True story.
I find that people who grow increasingly attractive naturally attract more compliments (than usual) which then possibly elevate their level of confidence and make them feel good about themselves.
BUT, there is always a thin line between the good and the evil.
You can choose to absorb the compliments humbly or become a total arrogant bitch.
I don't like the latter.
I don't like your arrogance.

#1309: A very real blogger I discovered
I keep telling myself I should blog more, I should blog more and I should blog more on what's going on in my life.
Shouldn't that be the duty of a person who owns and writes a blog?!
Anyway, I was peeking on what my sister was surfing on the net and went back to my comp and did the same thing - clicknetwork.tv.
I caught the name "Qiuqiu" and recalled her as being Xiaxue's friend, as do Sophie Willcoq's as well - these well-known bloggers in Singapore's blogosphere.
I clicked on her channel and realised she is "Budget Barbie"!
I remember Mindy (OMG SHE'S NOW IN SINGAPORE AND I JUST KNOW IT) showing me an episode of Budget Barbie and commented that I look or sound like her.
I wish I look like her, she has nice features!
So, I was browsing through her channels and one caught my attention - My Boob Job.
I clicked it, out of curiosity (duh!) and oh my goodness, it really is a video of her boob job and so I did a google search on her.
She was featured on the Chinese newspapers on her boob job (I vividly remember reading that in ShinMin) and after reading several posts on her blog, I can tell that she is a very forthcoming person.
After watching her boob job video, my goodness, I sort of had a change in my stand against plastic surgery.
I do not support the idea of having plastic surgery because I think we have to embrace whatever natural stuff our parents have given us.
I do not like the idea of tweaking things just for the sake of changing the way we look because that would already be fake.
However, after watching Qiuqiu bare her heart on how she has suffered under the mean, malicious remarks of others on her flat chest, and how genuinely elated she was after seeing for herself the results of the op, I softened my stand on plastic surgery.
She didn't ask for a dramatic cup, she merely became an A and most importantly, she finally feels that her bras can finally hold something.
On a sidenote, I get laughed at by people (see thor, it's always you mocking at my cup size hahaha!) on my chest too but I always laugh it off.
I do have boobs unlike Qiuqiu, thus I don't get as affected.
***OH YES, massages work so work those fingers while you're bathing, girls!
Looking at her body prior to the op and hearing her say "no matter how girly I am, I still don't feel like a 100% woman", it really gets to me.
I'm happy that she feels more comfortable with her own body now and... I don't know my exact feelings toward plastic surgery but if it's for a good enough reason, I guess I can accept it. :/
PSST: I just can't accept that Park Min Young went under the knife to look this gorgeous now plus she managed to snag the very eligible bachelor, Lee Min Ho with her current looks!

It is also noteworthy to mention that Qiuqiu uploads ugly photos of herself - very real!

I clicked on the link that says "Saving My Face" and followed the link to her ugly photos.
She's so real haha! Kudos to her for having the courage to show her readers the "not so pretty" side of her life!
