#217: My loving parents

Ok, I'm here to blog. SOMEONE has been bugging me day and night to update so here I am.

Hmms, I just wanna blog about my loving parents. My mum has been nagging and bugging me to go watch "881" with her last weekend and I simply nudged her off by claiming that the opportunity costs of going to the movie concerns the sacrifice of my studies. Yes. 881. That movie which caused a sensation in the entertainment news recently. The same movie our very own MM Lee complimented. The movie which many MPs and ah peks and ah mas watched and said it was worth the time and money watching.

My dad didn't go to work yesterday cos he was off duty and so, I suggested that they go together! You know, the last movie they watched was actually "Money Not Enough", directed by Jack Neo and Mark Lee starred in it. The movie was like so ancient already la- I believed it was at least 10 years old. I volunteered to call the cinema and voila, the nearest timeslot was 9.15pm! Great timing. My parents are going dating!!! LOL

Then, after dinner, my parents set off for my grandma's house before heading to the cinema. I thought they would enjoy the movie together, but never would I thought that my parents would drag my grandma along! What a surprise, am I right? My dad came home, grudgingly said that he didn't like the storyline and at the same time, complained that both my mum and my grandma used up all the tissue papers cos they were sobbing throughout the movie! LOL. So funny. Imagine two women, one middle-aged and one approaching 75 (their ages add up to more than a hundred la) crying away in the cinema! SO funny! LOL.

Ok. That's all I wanted to post. I wish I could find a husband who doesnt date me in like, 10 years. Must be a caring, romantic and a loving one. One that you can depend on for the rest of your life.

#214: True friendship

First and foremost, I would like to declare that this is my personal blog. Please respect my views. What I write in here are my innermost voices of which I seek no need in entertaining anyone or for any publicity purposes for myself to boost my popularity or of any sorts of this. If you need some interesting posts from me, you can jolly well go to my friendster blog, http://summergirl-huimin.blogs.friendster.com/huimin/ as that serves as entertainment to my readers. Therefore, I wish to reiterate that what I write here are all genuine, straight from the bottomest(if there exists such a word) of my heart and that is why I strive to keep this blog private.

Okay, serious things checked. Let's get down to some other stuff. I would like to show my gratitude towards some TRUE friends as they have showed me what TRUE friendship is for the past not-so-wonderful days I've spent. Please, they are not ranked according to merit or credit. No preference or whatsoever ok. :)

SEE THOR HUIQI

My new-found BFF. She's too alike me in many ways. We're loud, dramatic, and irritating at times. I wonder why we only became good friends now. HA. Erm, ok, it's gonna get mushy now. Ya, I owe alot to this woman la. She always claim that she treats her friends better than she treats her boyfriend. I mean, that is kinda true if we look at Derek's case, but not so true in Kin Lung's case. WAIT. DONT LOOK AT ME WITH SUCH BIG EYES WHEN YOU READ THIS. I mean, I would rather you treat Kin Lung better than you treat your girlfriends. Hello? The person whom you're dating could be the love of your life leh. Ya. So, erm, I really love your enthusiasm towards your friends, including me of course. Your encouragement, company are so invaluable to me. I mean it. Without you, I would probably die from loneliness when I lacked support from you-know-ya. HAHA. I hope you know what I'm talking about. Ok, I shall talk about bad points too. Y'know, we must be judgemental and objective in everything. No one's perfect. Ok. Huiqi's abit harsh at times. Her tone is pretty hard and strong as she puts great emphasis on her words. Like, towards Miah, Radhika and Shihui. I know half the time she's joking la, but to others who dont know her that well, they may simply judge her as crude lor. She can be very very nice and very very critical. Ha. Extremes sia. BUT, her good outweighs the bad largely. She's still a very good friend, so to speak. Oh, and one more bad point. She's damn straightforward. She always tells people about her periods and things that I deemed as personal. Pls keep such private things to yourself, Huiqi. Dont anyhow shoot things out of your mouth, goodness! Other than that, I LOVE YOU MY FRIEND!

JOANNE QUEK

This girl is demure by nature. Her innate ability is to smooth things out and act as the mediator. But what lies beneath her is kinda scary- she sees through your mind. At certain times, what she says is very true y'know. Y'know, some people are born to make people around them happy. They sort of have the ability to lead a group of friends and make them laugh on any occasion. They act as the 'clowns' or 'jokers' to liven up the atmosphere. And at times, you dont have the foggiest idea about what lies beneath their laughter, their "masks". This girl does. So, haha, she's a good listening ear, a good confidante, and a good middleman. She seeks to try to work things out between problematic people like me. BUT, here comes the bad part. She doesn't confide as well as she advises people. Her only source of pouring out problems to is her blog. One can really get depression if you read her entries. No kidding about this. So, I have this thing to say to you, Joanne- Dont be afraid to break down like the other day. Everyone needs concern from people, including you. Only when you voice your fears and grumbles then will people notice and start to show their concern. Dont be like the abovementioned clown who hides her unhappiness inside her. I LOVE YOU TOO!

SEET

The potential over-thrower of the clan. Nah, I'm not going to rub on that issue right now. I just wanna say that you are there when I needed someone to convey messages to. You have the potential to be a negotiator you know that? No joking about this. Or maybe a peacekeeper. You love peace to the ultimatum. You take every chance to tell me to make peace. Haha. BUT, I heed not your advice. :) You know very well how friendships work, based on your already-deleted post and I agree wholeheartedly in the content. However, no matter how idealistic you may put it, there are bound to be some problems somewhere, somehow. Just like I know that you have tons of problems, but you dont say them out. You rarely express your unhappiness, just like me la huh, haha, that's kinda bad. BUT, your redemption is that you love peace to the core. You hate seeing people fall out and friendships go bust. That's good about you, really. I like such people. They try their very best to salvage failed, or should I say, scarred, relationships and do their very best to bring these people together again. I admire that about you, SEET. I TOO, LOVE YOU MY FRIEND!

There are many more worthy friends like those mentioned above- Amina, Sally, Mindy, Talia...and the list goes on. Although some of which I may have lost touch with, I would still remember the wonderful times we spent together, the wonderful friendships we have forged. That is why those that I've linked in this blog of mine remains as my long lasting friends.

Lastly, I would like to pay tribute to a person, a friend who have been through a lot with me the past year. We shared a lot of memorable moments together, good as well as bad. And that is why squabbles are inevident. Because of the intensity of the arguments, you have expressed your insecurity in this friendship and I have thus, made the decision independently to, put it in a crude way, remain just as friends with you. There is hardly any way we can resume the things they were as before. The friendship is scarred. Many have told me this, our personalities differ so much, it is a wonder we click so well. Yes, we do click well, but when it comes to conflicts and my need for a listening ear, sadly, you did not occur to me first. Probably it was my assumption that I could not relate my problem to you or that may be the actual case. But in this case, it is NO ONE's fault. Not yours, not mine. Perhaps we have reached the bottleneck and things aren't going the way we want it to be, so conflicts arose. Nonetheless, you have proved to be a worthy friend, and as I looked through the videos and photos that we have taken together, I kinda genuinely miss you and your smile will always be remembered. These days, I see you with a sad face almost everyday. It hurts me too, but I know, even if we go back to where we were in the past, the 'feel' will not be there anymore. It will be worse than the current situation. I'm a person who loathe awkwardness. I hate that kind of being-caught-in-between sort of feeling. I wont know what to do and end up getting frustrated by myself and people around me when I have to face you. I cant pretend that nothing happened. I seriously feel that it's better to remain status quo.

I have my bad points too. Sometimes, I'm so insensitive that people actually hate me for it. Other times, I exaggerate my actions and scream for no apparent reason and people deem it as being attention-seeking. But really, I love all my friends. I try to treat them as well as I could. Make them as happy as they can. I have my mean moments too- times when I feel mean and start criticising, even at my friends. But, people have to understand, NO ONE IS PERFECT. We all have our own flaws. No one's a saint.

So, what I have said are really, my heartfelt feelings of what I have experienced since the fallout. Friendships are precious. Please treasure them.

#213: Man United emerged victorious in the FA Comm Shield, 2007

MANCHESTER UNITED EMERGED VICTORIOUS IN THE FA COMMUNITY SHIELD 2007.

And you may wonder how I watched my favourite club emerged victorious?
I watched the TV like this.

StarHub's Digital Cable TV mosaic! I had to squint my eyes so badly to watch my favourite club produce the best football ever. Cos now that I have to mug, my dad cancelled the sports package and my mum ps me at the last minute when we agreed to go to the kopitiam to watch. She claimed, "What's a girl doing at the kopitiam, together with those lao-ah-peks watching football? So unbecoming!"
FINE LOR. I still managed to watch through the TV and youtube. And with the help of my fellow soccer fan pal, Adrian! He helped by telling me the scores! Thanks Adrian!
HAHAHA! Chelsea are LOSERS.

#212: Most accident-prone day

Tuesday was Huimin's most-accident-prone day. First, I got hit by a tennis racquet (at full force because my friend was trying to hit the incoming cursed tennis ball), and minutes later, another darned tennis ball hit my back. OUCH. Totally spoilt my day. Then after break, we (me, huiqi, yiwen and becca) went to the GO to fiddle with the First Aid Kit. My right hand is swollen la. Bruised. So, I went to take a bandage and things went out of control! HAHAHA. Becca started to find herself a bandage and wrapped it around her elbow too cos she said she strained her arm while playing tennis. LOL. We were kinda embarrassed by the commotion and excitement we caused and retreated to the table outside the GO. Because of this, we missed our econs lecture! =(

This is a picture of my pig-trotters-like-hand. I know the winnie-the-pooh plasters are cute. My creation!

Good Riddance.
