History

Halloween has its origins in the ancient Celtic festival known as Samhain (Irish pronunciation: [ˈsˠaunʲ]; from the Old Irish samain). The festival of Samhain is a celebration of the end of the harvest season in Gaelic culture, and is sometimes regarded as the "Celtic New Year". Traditionally, the festival was a time used by the ancient Celtic pagans to take stock of supplies and slaughter livestock for winter stores. The ancient Gaels believed that on October 31, now known as Halloween, the boundary between the alive and the deceased dissolved, and the dead become dangerous for the living by causing problems such as sickness or damaged crops. The festivals would frequently involve bonfires, into which bones of slaughtered livestock were thrown. Costumes and masks were also worn at the festivals in an attempt to mimic the evil spirits or placate them.

"And did you know that I don`t have any appetite for the whole day?"

"You think I had it easy? I didn`t eat either!"

Wah piang. These two people. Are really.... OMG, I`m speechless.

I asked my mum yesterday evening, "Did you quarrel with Papa?"

"Don`t know. Don`t ask me."

After that I said, "You two how old already! HAIYO!" HAHAHA.

And after that squabble, I believe they`ve made up because they went off for dinner very happily.

High School Musical 3 Frenzy!



Thorry came to crash my lesson this morning with the pure intention of going shopping with me after school.
We decided to lunch with Joanne and Terence after lessons and walked to Cineleisure.
Out of SHEER RANDOMNESS, Thorry suggested watching High School Musical 3.
Believe me, it was extremely random because, on one hand, we were deciding between places to dine, and the next second we knew, she was screaming, "Let`s go watch High School Musical!"
And being the HSM fanatic that I am, I had ALWAYS wanted to catch the movie but I know Thorry would most probably watch it with her beau and other friends with their boyfs as well.
So when she popped this idea to me, I was TOO THRILLED and went hysterical.
We started to scream like little excited kids and ran to the ticket counter! HEEHEEHEE.

PS: And, HSM is SO NOT for young kids. Thorry, Jo and I ARE SO CRAZY OVER THIS SHOW OK.

Didn`t forget to lunch with Terence before going for the movie.
He has things on and thus, unable to join us.
I let him have the privilege of taking a picture with the woman of his dreams. HAHAHA.

The opening scene was the Wildcats in their championship game.
Thorry and I were grooving with the loud thumping music and almost danced right there in the theatre.
We loved the music; the choreography as well.
FABULUS!

At the end of the movie, Thorry and I were exclaiming, "This has got to be the best movie I`ve watched this year!"
And indeed it is. Go check it out yourselves.

School resumed today. New lesson on a new module- STATISTICS.

"Haven`t heard from you in 3 freaking days. Are you still alive?"
HAHAHA. She`s used to my "hostility". We call each other idiots anyways.

Mere seconds later, I got a message from her with completely different content that said,
"Hui min! Im back from my weekly hibernation! This wed or thurs you free?"

And then another peep.
"Omg! We messaged each other at the same time! Gosh. Telepathy! I love Hui Min! Miss you like mad lor. T.T"

HAHAHA. Love this cutie.

However, the weather was all too gloomy for me.

I couldn`t fathom the underlying meaning.
I went to ask my second sister about it.
When she saw it, her first and immediate response was, "CUTIE PIE LOR."
I was like, "HUH. WHERE?!"
Then it dawned on me that Q T = CUTIE.
AHHHH. I feel so dumb. =x

I had an unexpected sms just now.
"Yoyo... Harhar... How are you?? Wilson here."
I was stunned for a moment.
WILSON, WHO?!
Then I replied asking whether he is the Wilson from Millennia Institute and I was right.
HAHAHA. I haven`t spoken to him for like, perhaps a year?
Furthermore, he changed his mobile number so I haven`t a clue who he was.
FYI, he was sort of like my 冤家。
We NEVER fail to bicker everytime we meet.
Today was no exception either.
We were exchanging sms-es and updating on each other`s lives until....
he mentioned that he was a Liverpool fan and I started saying that I`m a Man Utd fan and...
well you know, Liverpool and Manchester United are arch rivals so...
HAHAHA.

He just sent me a sms minutes ago, asking me whether ESPRIT is a good brand.
RANDOM right?
I told him it`s a DARN GOOD BRAND because that was the brand I used in my marketing management presentation. LOL.

After my chat with him, I realised I have really lost contact with the M.I clique.
Bad bad Huimin.
I`m always not available whenever they meet up for gathering sessions.

Haven`t been blogging for quite a while. 3 days, to be exact.
YES, that`s QUITE A WHILE for the fervent blogger like me.
Let me tell you all the reason why.
It`s the RAIN.
The North East monsoon wasn`t slated to arrive till December.
Why has it started pouring then?
I can`t seem to write because of the rainy season.
Rainy season = The season of reminiscence which makes me emotionally unstable, thus unable to write!
ARGH. Irritating.

Some updates on my life.
I am CERTAIN that I have car-sickness.
It has been getting worse recently.
On the way home in Seet`s dad`s car.
My dad`s as well.
OH NO.
How how how?
Thorry says I lack vitamins.
I don`t know which one I need.
Zinc? Sodium? Silver? Aluminium? Or maybe gold?
Ok, gold is for joke only.
But well you know.

Or maybe it`s not car-sickness you know.
Cos I feel giddy even when I am not in motion.
I can feel so dizzy that I need to sit down and shut my eyes for a moment.

I`ve learnt my lesson. Not to mistake mere giddy spells or migraines for BRAIN CANCER.
Remember the big hoo-ha I created when I was in J2?
I thought I had brain cancer because I had trembling hands and pretty bad migraines.
Absent for school for several days and went doctor-hopping to find out the underlying problem.
(which is simply just STRESS!)
What a drama!

So for now, NO, I don`t tell myself that I have brain cancer.
I merely suffer from giddy spells.
Which I am certain that it happens because I am lacking in some vitamins.
Some kind of nutrient, so to speak.
Only a doctor can diagnose the problem.
Knocking on the doc`s door soon.
I don`t want to keep relying on paracetamols.

On a brighter side, after regulating my ferocious appetite, I`ve lost 1.5kg.
No, I`m not feeling sick because of the weight loss.
It`s two different things.
And knowing me, I won`t risk my health for losing weight.
I`m not anorexic nor bulimic.
I`m one healthy soul!

I know this is not the first time I`m blogging about the innocent, quirky, 古灵精怪 sister of mine.
AIYA SHE`S SUPER CUTE LA. I simply cannot resist her cute-ness and child innocence.
That air of naivety around her is so empowering and often amuses me to the core.

It`s the period of economic downturn now.
We should all 节用省水！(the correct words to use are 节省用水)


And I caught her emo-ing by herself at one corner just now. SUPER FUNNY.


I picked her up from school and brought her to lunch. Look at her dining etiquette.
And what is THAT FREAKY THING coming out from her mouth?


Thinking that she`s a SUA-GU like me (who only stepped foot onto Boat Quay this year), I brought her to Boat Quay after I was done with OUB building. Guess what. She told me her teacher already brought her there before. On a HIPPO CRUISE SOME MORE! Man, kids nowadays are so PRIVILEGED.


And she took my Ixus baby to take self shots of herself not long ago.
I made them into a mosaic.
She`s really talented, ain`t she?


She must have inherited my good genes. However, she better not inherit my craziness.
I`m pinning all of my hopes on her. I`m going to bring her up into a fine young, delicate lady.
MMM. I have confidence in myself. Her happiness is in my hands. HAHA. xD

Looks like it is an OBVIOUS fact that my friends are getting NUTTY over Pet Society.
Even Huiqi`s beau`s sister has been going ga-ga over it.
I must really applaud her for her vivid imagination and creativity to come up with the following storyline.
I was greatly amused.

Welcome to my 601th post!

Rebecca gave me an overseas call yesterday! Man, she rang me at 1opm SG time and it was already 1am over there at Melbourne. 2hours time difference + 1 hour of DST. I don`t like DST because it further drifts us apart. Hate the feeling. HAHA. Anyways, looks like she`s well settled over there. Started school and all already. Hmms good good.

Anyways, we, the devoted clan + Amina, the all-time bestie of the D Clan, sent our dear Scrab off at the airport last Friday.

PS: I think Changi Airport Terminal 3 is super prettaye!!!

Before going to the departure hall to meet Becca at 845pm, I met up with Amina at 3pm in the afternoon.
Supposed to mug for our respective exams la but you know, once you put two gossipy women together, studying literally gets thrown off our minds. HEH.
I gave her an ELABORATE belated birthday celebration in Mac.

There are supposed to be another 3 ribbons at the top right hand corner but they dropped off.
Plus, see the blank space at the bottom right corner?
THERE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A HUGE PHOTO OF OUR CHEESY FACES but I reckon it dropped off on the streets without me realising it.
I`m gonna develop another one for her. =(\


I don`t know why I love to "embarrass" my friends on their birthdays. A weird habit of mine, I reckon. HAHA.

I just realised I haven`t post our "Discover SINGAPORE the way tourists do" outing!
That`s gonna be a tricky one because I have at least 150 photos to upload (that`s already the minimum estimate). HEEHEE.
