#1018: Drama on last day of Sept.

Drama mamaaaaaaaa.
Last day of September and I will remember this day forever for the events that happened.
First up.

Untitled by you.
Yes it was raining outside... BUT...

Untitled by you.
because of...

Untitled (2) by you.

Real misty man.

And then when I went back to the office after lunching with Jeremy (he looks a hell lot like Adriano! next time take photo let you all see!), we met my team manager and the senior operations manager at the lobby.
Took the lift up back to office together and the senior ops manager asked me how I was coping and adapting and I said it in a real sarcastic manner, "Sure I LOVEEE this job SOOO much!" and gave a cheeky smile.
Upon returning to my desk, I found this FREAK laying on my table.

IMG_8360 by you.
I immediately gasped and stared into the direction of the HR office!
WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED!!!
I was so stunned I don't even know what to do!
I blinked twice, several times and many many more times but it still says "TERMINATION LETTER"!
IMG_8361 by you.
I don't remember doing anything wrongly nor have I flouted any of those rules!
Furthermore, my team manager and the senior ops manager JUST asked me how I was coping MOMENTS ago!
I immediately ran to my team manager with this WRETCHED letter.
He looked at me and said, "Do you need me to explain this to you?"
I was like.... darn speechless.

Then I opened the envelope sadly and looked.
WAH LAU.
IMG_8362 by you.
I really WAH LAU-ED out loud and the next second I know, I was PUNK-ED.
BADLY.

Untitled1 by you.

My colleagues are real humorous people huh.

The next dramatic thing that happened was something that has never occurred to me in all my twenty years of life.
I was taking calls as usual at 6 plus.
Suddenly, I felt the desk move back and forward, and forward and back.
Some sort of like swaying.
The next moment, my team manager started packing his bags and scooted off, screaming, "CAN YOU ALL FEEL IT?! I'M OFF!"
I was still on the line with the passenger but I stood up anyways to survey my surroundings.
Wah. All my colleagues gathered at one corner and each of them passing comments.
"Got earthquake ah got earthquake! Can feel can feel!"
KNS. I was still on the line and I cannot leave!
After I hurriedly ended the call, I gathered as well and checked out ChannelNewsAsia.
Yeah. There had been a quake off Samoa islands near Japan.
Woah. Took 2 whole hours to have the waves and tremors hit Singapore huh.

The funny part was how my team manager evacuated himself SO FAST.
Kia si sia, seriously.
I heard from my senior ops manager that a similar incident happened two years back and when it happened, my team manager reacted the same way as well- took off ASAP.
-.-'''

Later that evening, I checked out CNA again and managed to capture this screenshot.
DSC00098 by you.

Another quake in Indonesia.
Man, the Indo-Australian plate is so active with seismic activity. GOSH.

I was supposed to knock off at 9pm but eventually zao-ed at 945pm cos I was stuck with this particular passenger over the phone for an entire hour.
My overflowing compassion is going to be my downfall man seriously.
I can easily say NO but because I truly understand her situation and I really wanted to help her, and it ended well, much thanks to Ziyong by his "enlightenment".
Anything wrong just say his name out loud can already. HAHAHA.

So I left my office building close to 10pm.
Gosh, darn lethargic and tired man.
And I will not be paid for the excess 45 mins at work lor.
Imagine me being the SOLE SOUL in the office, having to shut all the electricity in the HUGE office and then run for the exit.
Ah scary man.

While on the way home, I received this SMS and I cursed.

Tomorrow's my supposed off day but my team manager required me to work from 11am to 2pm.
What luck.
I can predict having to handle all these distressed passengers.
I hope they understand that this is a natural calamity and do not give me any trouble.
Fingers crossed.

PS: "Breakfast is the most important meal of the day!" says Sir Tingwei. Heehee.

#1017: I'm defecting...

Damn.
Propaganda is working its way through me.
I'm defecting, my fellow Red Devil fans!
Bring me back to Old Trafford, the Theatre of Dreams!
The constant playing of this song makes me feel attached to Anfield, dammit.
My fellow Red Devils, chant my soul and direct it back to where it belongs!

Go away Ziyong.
You're demoralizing my passion for Man Utd.
Tsk.

#1016: A moving family moment.

My roster for this week is 11am to 9pm.
Been waking up at 7, 8 plus cos was used to it already.
Today was no exception.
I woke up to Tingting's sobs.
Asked her what was wrong and she kept silent.
Usually, my routine was to go wash up, get dressed and leave for home asap cos I'm always rushing.
However, I did enjoy some slack time this morning.
After washing up, Tingting asked me whether there is a long ruler at home as she needed it for art later today.
I searched the stationary box and found none.
Told her there was no long ruler at home and she sulked.
Usually, I would leave it as that but I felt obliged to probe further as I had extra time at hand.
Given that, she showed me her diary which had several things written down to be brought to school.
So I told her that I would bring her to the stationary shop downstairs and her eyes lit up.

It was only after we visited the shop and got what she wanted when she told me, "Wanna know why I was crying this morning?"
I nodded and she said, "because I was scared my teacher would scold me if I did not bring the long ruler."
At that moment in time, I felt so apologetic towards her.
I mean, what if I was in a rush that morning and had no time to accommodate her wants/needs?
She did call Ling, wanting to ask her where the long ruler was but Ling did not pick up.
Most probably had already started work or something.
Then, Tingting felt so helpless that she sobbed silently on the bed beside me while I was sleeping soundly.
You know how I felt when she told me she cried because she was afraid the teacher would scold her?
I was thinking, why can't she tell me straight in the face that she needs to buy the long ruler?
The fact that she did not, and the fact that she acknowledges that I would normally need to rush to work and thus, leading her to assume that I wouldn't have time to bother or even entertain her made me feel so... useless as a sister.

Well, I'm glad I did have some slack time today which made me realise that I need to work towards showing more concern for that fragile lil 7 year old.

Took this on the 23rd of August.

Singapore is really morphing into a world-class city now, with the likes of Hollywood starlets gracing our city.
It was their first time visiting Singapore- Beyonce, Lindsay Lohan, Gwen Stefani and Nicole Scherzinger.
WELCOME!

#1014: If I ain't got you people...

I reached my boiling point on Saturday while working.
I never did understand when some of my colleagues told me they actually cried before when the customers got nasty.
I told myself, "Huimin, no matter how awful or difficult they are, you just need to hang in there! Never give in!"
But I eventually caved in.
Kinda broke down in a sense.
After ending the call, I requested for a toilet break and well, I guess you know the rest.

Tweeting helps vent my frustrations in a way.

b by you.
a by you.

I don't usually emo de la. AGREE? Haha!
But when I'm sad, I'm really sad so I needed a place to clear my mind off negative things.
q by you.

I have never felt that helpless in a long time.
I wanted to scream out loud but sanity pulled me back from doing so.
I needed so badly to speak to someone but I just couldn't do so.
I guess you people know how guarded I am about my emotions and that's really one damn sucky thing.
So I chose to keep to myself.

I called my colleague though.
Thought since he was in the same line he would be able to understand.
But he was busy playing mahjong so I decided not to bother him.

Just then, Terence called.
What apt timing.
He could sense the strange tone in my voice but I assured him that I was alright.
He probed further and I spilled everything out.
Of course he did not know that while he spoke, bead-sized of tear balls fell from my eyes.
I really feel damn 委屈。
As much as I wish to help, some things such as the dead rules and regulations keep me from doing so and I feel so inhumane.
So bounded by rules and regulations!
Very 没人性 you know!

After confiding in him, he kinda cheered me up by telling me that the beautiful sunset was God's compensation to me for the sadness I feel.
Damn sweet.
f by you.

And I guess these people were there when I needed them most too, so thanks so much.

To Huiqi: I rather BARK than MEOW. LOL.

I also recall her sending me this message some time ago.

SO TRUE.
And I will stand by it.
我问心无愧。

#1013: A wait well worthwhile.

It was my star's birthday on Friday.
I deliberately ignored her- never did send her any birthday messages or whatever.
Little did she know that I had an evil plot in progress.
Walked to her house after work.
Reached there at about 8pm.
Knocked on her door but truth to be told, I did not expect her to be home cos she would most probably be out of the house celebrating with her friends.
I was proven right.

Amina's mother kindly invited me inside and displayed the best hospitality ever possible.
Stuffed me with her homemade specialties and drinks and I was kept entertained with her brother and MioTV.

The wait wasn't so unbearable.
She finally reached home a little after 9. :)

I do not forget kindness bestowed upon me.
The memory of how my face looked like when this girl appeared outside my house with a cake she painstakingly baked for me for my birthday present was still vividly etched in my mind.

I am damn proud of this girl.
I had a pretty enriching conversation with her mum while waiting for her.
Amina has completed her conversational Mandarin course and is now taking Chinese elective as one of her modules in NTU.
She is actually learning to write chinese compositions now can you believe it?!
And at the same time, she is almost on the road of getting her motorbike license (there's only the final hurdle of the final practical test) and learning how to drive shortly after.
I feel so underaccomplished as compared to her.
Did tell her about it and she laughed it off. LOL.

#1012: Phobia 2 continued.

It all began with this...
Photobucket
callgirl=me
couch potato=danny

Brian informed me that we would need to change original time at 6pm to 9 plus cos he got some stuff to attend to in camp.
Okay so I called Danny to inform him.

Me: Wei hello Danny ah!
Danny: Hellooooooo (in a dreary tone).
Me: Are you SLEEPING?! (I called at 2plus in the afternoon)
Danny: Mmmmm....
Me: Omg okay anyways I will just make this short. Brian has got some stuff in camp so we are postponing the movie to the later timing. See you at Tampines at 9pm okay.
Danny: Mmmmmm.......
Me: Tsk. Okay go back to your sleep. See you at 9 later ah! Bye!
Danny: Mmmmmm.......

I almost rolled on the floor laughing when I received this roughly an hour later...
Photobucket

I always experience this as well.
Semi-conscious state.
Well, it's comforting to know I'm not the only one who has this "disorder". HAHA!

While walking me home, these lads had a chance to relieve their childhood and I was fast enough to capture the historic moment!

Cute right? Guys acting like kids. How often do you see this...?
Brought a wide grin onto my face. :)))

#1011: Don't let the FEAR get to you.

Just reached home after walking from Tampines Mall.
Went to catch Phobia 2 (like I said earlier) with Brian&Danny.
http://www.safra.sg/data/resources/images/MovieMax/phobia2web.jpg
Good grief.
I... okay.. let's just say that my first horror film was not too bad.
Screaming and hiding behind my bag was pretty much expected of me, but I didn't expect the irritating jabbing from Danny which attempted to scare the hell out of me and the surprising screams from Brian!
Damn funny sia these two jokers.
One is like so relaxed throughout the movie and the other, hahaha, everytime I cast a sideways glance to Brian on my right, he would either be covering his face or argh-ing.
HAHAHA!

Okay heading to bed now.
Won't be having nightmares tonight.
Did not feel that creepy after all.
Nights all~

#1010: Dozing off UNINTENTIONALLY.

It's always like this when I work.
Reach home, have dinner, take a bath, wait for hair to dry while reading mags or books and then slowly, slowly, I drift off to sleeeeep....

It was like that last night.
I already told myself I cannot fall asleep because I need to be online since I have the day off today.
Can chat till the wee hours that kind of thing you know?
So around 9pm, I went to lie on my bed reading the illustrated version of Angels and Demons.
Was smsing Brian at the same time as well.
Read, sms, read, sms.
The next thing I know, I woke up at 3am to realise that I looked somewhat like the following picture.

75627078[1].jpg_v=1&c=NewsMaker&k=2&d=91F5CCEF208281FD13B0EC75126F12E28E6EA4E1FD0F06683A2711DC1978DEBD by you.

Conclusion: It is not a good thing to lie on the bed.
Because it is so comfortable, because it is so tempting to just throw your book away and zzz, you doze off UNINTENTIONALLY and got to face consequences when you eventually wakes up.
Comfortable bed, lengthy word = SLEEP!
HAHA!

Terence buddy sent me a sms at 11 plus saying, "Tmr's your off day and you are asleep."
Apparently, he knew I was most probably in bed due to my absence from MSN.
Haha buddy indeed.

Also, I had to explain to Brian that I dozed off and he tsk-ed me.
I deserved it. Oh wells.

YAY WATCHING PHOBIA 2 LATER!
Off day is my R&R day!

PS: Gonna be my first horror film ever! Bring it on!

#1009: All men and women crumble under the name of LOVE.

If you find someone you love in your life, then hang on to that love. - Princess of Wales Diana

Mindy Wang called me just now!!!
Yes yes I missed her voice dearly and I was darn touched by her gesture to contact me after so long.
She... has changed.
She has turned into Huimin and I have transformed into Mindy.
"Huimin! I feel so "Huimin" right now! I'm showing the kind of reactions what the typical "Huimin" would do!!!"
HAHAHA.
I am no longer the lovestruck idiotic teenager. She is.
And that I am tougher than ever, taking after Mindy in her early days.
Woohoo.

I like it the fact that she always keep her conversation short and sweet.
If you must know, I'm not really a fan of long phone calls.
38 minutes was just fine.
Though we are friends who do not keep in contact as often as we can, it is still heartwarming to know that our friendship and familiarity with each other did not change due to the passing of time.
That's to show that our friendship stands even in times of adversity.
Love you, Mindy!

PS: If you see this, I'm telling you- FIGHT for your own happiness!

#1008: Because it was sucha beautiful night.

Everything about me revolves around work these days so I'm not going to talk about it anymore.
Quit that topic. Work's a chore. Period.

So let's talk about the wonderful time I spent with two of my mates last Sunday!
Watched soccer at some random kopitiam in Bedok with Brian&Danny and man was it breathtaking man!
Manchester derby leh!
It was soooo exciting towards the end of the derby match which aroused many woos and ahhs!
Can't believe Danny actually dozed off from 88th minute onwards and woke up startled from the ferocious roars.
Serve him right for dozing off during such an exciting match.
Probably dozed off due to the Carlsberg he ordered and downed at the beginning of the match.
Tsk tsk.

After watching such an electrifying match, the guys suggested to go for supper at Kembangan.
They told me they would bring me to eat some really mouth-watering mee sua which turned out to be the one I always eat at 511 (Kembangan's stall was the franchise)!
So coincidental lor!
And also thanks to them, I eventually found out about the franchise but I still held on to my opinion that 511's still the best and cheaper!

Brian's my primary schoolmate though my memory of him was very vague.
I only remember him as being close to Eunice that's all.
We reconciled in our recent primary school gathering and I actually thought him to be haughty given his classic smirk.
Heh heh but as I slowly get to know him, talk to him, I realise he's a real easygoing guy.
Which is good, since his best bud is Danny (which by the way is so coincidental again!) and we can hang out together in the future!

The fun part began after supper.
It was already midnight but my papa chose to be real irritating that night cos he kept calling me to rush me home as I have work the next day though it was a PUBLIC HOLIDAY and I HAD TO WORK.
Dammit.
Whatever the case, I told my papa I will reach home safe and sound.
He had my assurance and honestly speaking, he need not worry about me that much la.
I suggested all of us to walk back to Chai Chee to drop Brian off and Danny can take a bus back home while I walk home.
They looked at me in bewilderment and I was like, "Walking is good for digestion!"
I guess they have nothing to say given my enthusiasm for walking. Heehee.

So of course they accommodated the wilful me and we took a stroll back Chai Chee among the real creepy landed properties instead of climbing up and down the slope.
I had a hell scare of my life when Danny crept up behind me when we were in front of some temple and my hairs were standing on ends.
WAH PIANG EH I CURSED LIKE MAD LOR.
The atmosphere was sooo eerie already and he still gave a sudden pat on my back!
TSK.

After which I told them about my penchant for walking and that I really appreciated their company and at the same time, they were able to enjoy the night breeze as well and that was when Danny rebuked me, "WHERE GOT BREEZE!"
I was dumbfounded and he went, "you stop in your tracks now and feel. Got breeze meh? You probably feel wind cos you were walking."
At that point in time, I found him to be strikingly similar to a certain friend of mine- BENJAMIN QUEK.
The same level of sadism shown towards me.
And Brian happened to resemble the good and easy-going guy- Adrian.
I totally imagined them to be that way.

We touched on the topic of "friends with benefits" while walking.
I was introduced to this new thing and I had my reservations about it.
What I thought was, a friend is a friend and a boyfriend is a boyfriend.
Why make your "friend with benefits" have such a complicated relationship with you and eventually make yourself miserable?
I tell you, 9 out of 10 will eventually FALL for their "friends with benefits".
I'm receptive to argument though. :)

So when we finally reached Chai Chee, Brian showed us his neighbourhood and we went up to his house to have a look at the nightview.
I thought he will go home but he chose to stay.
How nice.

Then, the three of us decided to walk back to Bedok from Chai Chee and suddenly, Brian suggested to bring us to some HDB in Bedok South to see the gorgeous night view which overlooks the sea.
This is my favourite part of the night.
Mainly because everything was done by walking, strolling, whatever you call it and that night is always so peaceful which calms one's mind naturally.
I feel very at ease when the moon is out and you have a few good friends for company.
If my papa did not rush me to go home, I would have headed to ECP with them, even.

We walked to Bedok South and Brian brought us to this 25-storey HDB building and my my, the night lights were... well, I cannot find a word to describe it la.
Damn beautiful and atmospheric ahhhh....
I could not see the ocean (duh cos it's all dark) but I was able to see the lights coming from the ships.
Brian said it would be even prettier during the day but I was real glad he brought us to this gorgeous place.
Imagine the three of us perched on the railing, overlooking the magnificent night view.
WOW...

And the fact that we were overlooking my dream JC brought me into the mood as well.
Brian came from the Temasek family: Temasek Pri, Temasek Sec and Temasek JC- everything that I have hoped for.
He pointed to me the various classroom buildings, hall, field according to TJC's architectural outline and I imagined for once that I was part of the school.

1am came and I was finally satisfied with my crazed inclination for walking and eventually had Danny cabbed all of us home.

One does not need moola to attain happiness.
Simplicity is bliss.

#1007: Awesome models.

I collected the latest Fall/Winter Collection catalogue when I passed by Charles & Keith in Tampines Mall.
Gorgeous photos, as usual.
I always love to browse their season catalogues because that's where you get to see gorgeous-looking pairs of legs!

From the previous Spring/Summer Collection, we have...

I mean, her posters are HUGELY plastered everywhere in Mango outlets it is impossible not to notice this "bombshell".
