#1288: Is it true that we get busier as we age?

I told my mum to find a blank slot and book me for that day as she wants me to tag along when they picnick at East Coast Park one of these days during the June holidays.
Am I considered unfillial not to have time for my family?
That is not entirely the case because...look, my Thursdays are all free!
My weekly schedule is as follows:
Classes on Mon, Tues, Wed and work on Wed night, Fri night, Sat and Sun afternoons till evenings.
Huiqi is worse.
She has a 9-5pm attachment on  Mondays to Fridays and Jap lessons to attend on Mon and Thurs nights and part time work on Sat and Sun, like me.
Does she have a life? Hell, no!
She's more miserable than me, oh man.

That is why I still hold dear to one of my many life philosophies - live for the moment.
Though time is not on my side, we must all try to live each and every moment to the fullest for no one knows what happens next.
CHEERS TO LIFE!

#1287: The first time I'm buying jewellery for myself

...and I think I will get addicted to it because the feeling of holding an exquisite jewellery piece gives me joy!
Well, as they always say, diamonds are a girl's best friend right?
I think it has something to do with the jewellery box because they are really pleasing to the eye!

So I was restless one fine day and I decided to play around with my treasure trove.
I have this box filled with all my 21st birthday presents and I found this lovely turquoise box.
Yes, THAT turquoise box every girl would LOVE to have, especially during proposals haha!

I decided such an exquisite piece should be given the right to see the light of day and so, I set my mind to buy a white gold chain to match its value and ta-dah!

I SHOULD buy a Tiffany&Co chain but alas, I'm not that financially competent enough, yet.
I'm more than satisfied with my first jewellery purchase and I bet any girl would feel the same way I do!
It's a girl's thing, really. xD

Toodles~ (haven't said this in eons)

#1286: Busy bee

I got a very rare day off to have some precious sisterly-bonding time today.
We went shopping in the evening and while shop-hopping, Ling suddenly commented, saying "it has been so long since we last hung out. You're always so busy nowadays so today is a rare day indeed."
I took in the words and pondered.

When we got home, and after almost half an hour later (I'm slow in processing my thoughts), I suddenly, yeah, all of a sudden and out of the blue, exclaimed, "Ling! Y'know I am very touched by what you said earlier leh! About you describing our outing today as a rare occasion...me very touched!" and know what kind of response I get?
She said in a flat tone, "can you don't be such a drama queen seriously?"
That totally washed my enthusiasm away, hahaha but I'm still touched nonetheless.
Quietly touched.

PS: When we were shoe-shopping in New Look, I went to try on the superbly high heels which further added probably 4-5 inches to my already-tall frame and stood next to Ling. The salesgirl came and asked if we were sisters. I said yes and she commented, "oh you're so tall and your legs are so long you could be a model! Are you three sisters?" as she pointed to Ling, Tingting and I. I said yes again and she said, "oh but how come you're so tall and your sisters are..." Upon hearing this, Ling's face sunk. While we were on the way home, she made it clear to me that she was pissed by the pinoy's comment. HAHAHA, she actually took it to heart! AND, she told me not to blog/tweet/post on FB about it seeing as how well she understands my *ahem* sharing nature.

Sorry Ling, but you know me. HAHAHAHA.

#1285: The blunt edges

All along, I thought that having my hair layered is the "coolest and in" thing to do because everyone else is doing it.
Another weird thinking of mine, as always.
This time, I decided to reverse the trend and told the hairstylist to cut blunt edges for me (asymmetrical some more, she probably didn't realise that. -.-) and guess what, change is always good and I'm embracing it!
Sometimes when you are stuck with something for a long time, be it a belief or a notion, why not take a bold step back and tweak things a little?
You'll be pleasantly surprised.

Change, of course comes at a price.
I was so uncomfortable with my blunt edges (after living with layered ends for yeeears) and I questioned myself for this "rash" decision but as time passes, time sort of lifted a veil over my eyes and I saw things differently.
Ah, life is so amazing.
